Build A Path

Path creation is the crucial step in creating structure to communicate to your team on an interactive, accountable platform.

A Path is your company-branded space where you input Steps and where team members engage with you, your content and each other.

Sections break Paths up into different sections, and are usually focused around one subject. Each Section is made up of Steps. Examples of different Sections in a Path might be “Announcements”, “Sales Strategies”, and “Internal Policies.”

Steps are the smallest, and most important, unit of Paths in Unleesh. Steps deliver small, manageable pieces of information and ask team members to engage with the information by sharing feedback in various ways depending on the input desired from the manager.

Activities are the submissions team members make to complete a Step based on the input asked from managers. Activities can be made several different ways, including multiple choice response, text, photos, audio, acknowledgment buttons and video.

Path Creation

EDIT A PATH

The Paths List is what you see when you log into the advanced pub tool of Unleesh. This can be found at https://unleeshadmin.com/admin.

As a manager you will see the Paths you have permission to administer.

To start editing your path, click “edit” on the path listing. In most instances, we will have started your Path with a couple sections and a couple steps in each sections to serve as placeholders for you to edit and input your own work.

The Title is where you can edit the name of your Path. Keep it short! We recommend 26 characters or less.

The Description on the Path Edit page is used to identify your path in the Private Manager Publishing Tool. It does not show up in the Path itself. Feel free to write a short description of your Path here. It becomes useful when a manager has a large amount of Paths and needs to remember what each one’s primary focus is.

PRIVATE MANAGERS

Private Managers

Below the description is the Private Managers section. This is where you can assign current members of your path to the role of Private Manager, giving them access to the Private Manager Publishing Tool and all of the permissions we are outlining in this guide.

To give permission, click on a current user’s email in the left column, hold the mouse button down and “drag” to the right column. The system will allow you to create a “welcome message” that will be sent to the new Private Manager.

ICON

Path Icon

Below the Private Mangers section you have the ability to change the icon associated with your Path and shown in the App. Icons should be 200px by 200px.

To choose a new icon, click on “Choose file”, pick an image from your computer and click "Save".

Path Listing

Now we are getting somewhere! Click on the blue “show” link under Path Listing to  start building Steps. Once your Path is all set up this will be where you return to continue adding Sections and Steps whenever you want.

SECTIONS

Sections

Sections break Paths up into different categories, and are usually focused around one subject. Each Section is made up of Steps. Examples of different Section in a Path might be “Announcements”, “Sales Strategies”, and “Internal Policies.”

To edit the name of a Section click on “edit Lesson”.

Edit the Title of your Section. Also make sure to choose the Path associated with this Section. You can also designate where the Section appears in your Path by changing the Section Number. Sections appear in numerical order, with 1 being first, 2 being second, etc.

When you are finsihed, click "Edit". Then click on the "Back to the list" button to go back to the Path Listing.

LEVELS

Levels

Levels are used to hide Steps in subsequent levels until a user completes all Steps on a previous level.

To edit a Level click on “edit level” in blue link after any current existing level.

To add a Level click the grey “Add level to Section (#),” at the bottom of a Section listing.

The Title is not visible to users, it merely acts as an organizational banner for Path builders.

The Level number determines what order users will see the Steps in their Path (Steps in Level 1 come before Steps in Level 2).

Target Points are the points users will need to earn within current level to access Steps in a subsequent level.

It is strongly recommended to have just one level set at 1 with 0 target points for all Sections unless you are an advanced user and have a legitimate need for different Levels.

If you want all content in the Path to be available, input 0.

If you want to hide a level, input the desired points earned necessary in the previous level to “unlock” your desired level. For example, if you want to hide level 2 until the user has earned 10 points in level 1, target points in level 1 should be 10.

The Lesson submenu ensures that your Level is in the desired Lesson.

When you’re done, click the blue “Edit” button and then click the “Back to the list” button to go back to the rest of the path.

STEPS

Steps

Steps are the smallest, and most important, unit of Paths in Unleesh. Steps deliver small, manageable pieces of information and ask team members to engage with the information by sharing feedback in various ways depending on the input desired from the manager.

To edit a step, click on the “edit step” button. To add a step click on the “add step to level 1” button.

It is strongly recommended to only add Steps to Level 1 with 0 target points unless you are an advanced user and have a need for different Levels.

The Step Edit page is where you will add or edit your content to be shown in Steps on the Path.

The Title appears under the Section title in Unleesh app. Try and keep it short. We recommend 30 characters or less.

The Step number determines the order in which a Step appears in a section with No. 1 being first, 2 being second, etc.

The Description on the Step edit page is where you share the information you want to pass along to your team. This works like most text editors and you can insert hyperlinks and format text.

The Step submit description is where you ask Team Members to interact by submitting a response to the information you just shared. (See Submit Options below)

Points determine how many points a user will earn by making a submission. Each step must be a minimum of 1 point. We recommend keeping all points at 1, unless you have a clear points strategy.

Level ensures that the Step  is categorized in the desired Level. It is strongly recommended to only add Steps to Level 1 with 0 target points unless you are an advanced user and have a need for different Levels.

To add supplementary information to Steps, upload Files by clicking “Choose File”.  Files can be images, PDF’s, videos or audio files.  Your max file size is 20mb. Videos will appear embedded with your Step description and can be played directly within the Step.  Upload only uneditable files (PDFs, jpgs, etc; NOT .doc or .ppt). Files other than videos will be displayed as a “Learn More” item in the Step and open up when a user clicks on “Learn More” while in the app.  Only one Learn More item or video can be added per Step.

FILES

Submit Options Type

This allows the manager to choose how they want to receive feedback from team members on each Step.  Submit options types include files, buttons, text fields, and calculations.

Files

Select “files” from drop down menu.

You can choose to give users the option to submit audio files, photos, text, or videos.

Check the boxes next to the file type to make that submission option available to your users. You can select as many options as you would like but must have at least 1.

BUTTONS

Buttons

Select “buttons” from drop down menu.

Buttons allow users to respond by just pressing a “button” created by a manager.  Buttons can be used as a one-click acknowledgment or as a multiple choice for the user. What you input in the text field will appear as the  different submission options for the user.

Label indicates what text will be displayed on the button.  You can create choices by adding up to 4 buttons by clicking  the grey“Add a button” box below.

Text Fields

TEXT FIELDS

Select “Text fields” from the drop down menu.

Text fields allow users to input text in a box that is labeled by the manager.

"Text field #0" displays the pretext of the submission where the users tap to submit their response. When users click the text field in the Unleesh app, the label disappears.

You can add up to 4 text fields by clicking “Add a text field” below.

CALCULATIONS

Calculations

Calculations allow the manager to ask for numerical inputs from teammates and have the app perform a mathematical formula with those numbers.

1) Simple calculation (without dependent argument)

For the formula: Sum=A+B

User needs to:
1) Input variable Argument#1
2) Input variable Argument#2
3) Input Submit name (what will be calculated)
4) Input operators (+,-,\,*) in the formula field

Calculations (advanced)

2) Formula with dependent argument:

Example:
Males: VO2max = 111.33 - H
Females: VO2max = 65.81 - H

where
H = Heart rate (in beats/minute) after test completion

User need to:
1) Input Argument#1 (H)
2) Input Argument#1 (Gender)
3) Set Argument#2 as "Is select"
4) Click "Add option"
5) Input label and value for the 1 option (Male and 111, 33)
6) Click "Add option"
7) Input label and value for the 2 option(Female and 65, 81)

When you have finished adding a Step submission type click "Save" then click "Back to the list."

MANAGE INVITES

Manage Invites

Click on the Manage Invites link at the top of the Path Listing page.

Next click Create Invites

Start adding emails in the Add Users field. We recommend putting commas between emails to keep yourself organized. You can edit the subject line and Email body for a custom message or just use the prepopulated message. Click Save to add the users to the Path and send the Invite email. Users do not need to open or see the invite email to use the App and Path once they are invited as long as they are registered on the App with the email the invite was sent to.
