NAFSA is here in my hometown of Denver and we have launched a cool guide for NAFSA attendees that features tips from locals! I’ve been hanging out at Booth #2305 with my friends from ViaTRM and meeting some great people. Even better, our intern, Nadie (who does research for this email), and who is here from Russia on an exchange for the month, went to the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, who are also here. The world is so small.

Grit and bear it Angela Duckworth is emerging as one of the most important public intellectuals of our time. It’s exciting to read what can make people more effective like how to understand mindsets. Now Duckworth is tackling Grit, the combination of passion and perseverance. The question we all should be asking is how can we nurture it through education? The World Bank shares some learnings in this blog.

Star Wars Leadership Building a business in the global economy is not what it used to be - even 2 years ago. Now money is tighter as VCs and investors have taken an interest in profit. This means more quality businesses with solid fundamentals. That sounds like hard work, authentic customer engagement and building businesses that last. Spelling Bee results! The Tribune in India has reported that Two American-Indians have won the spelling bee this year. The contest had 25 rounds to try to make it impossible for there to be a tie, but it wasn’t enough.
